This Privacy Policy explains what data Metafield Forge (“the app”, “we”) accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected when you install the app on your Shopify store.

Data we access

To provide its functionality, the app accesses:

• Your store domain and the information required to authenticate and run the app inside the Shopify admin.
• Metafield definitions and metafield values for products, collections and pages, which the app reads and writes on your behalf.

The app does not collect, store, or process personal data about your customers.

How we use data

Data is used solely to operate the app’s features — viewing, creating, editing, and transferring metafield definitions and values that you ask the app to manage. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data we store

We store the authentication session for your store (including an access token) so the app stays connected. This is kept in a PostgreSQL database hosted on DigitalOcean and served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Metafield content itself lives in your Shopify store, not on our servers.

Third parties

The app relies on Shopify (the platform and Admin API) and DigitalOcean (hosting). We do not share your data with any other third parties.

Data retention and deletion

When you uninstall the app, its session data for your store is deleted. We also comply with Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks: requests for customer data, customer redaction, and shop redaction are handled, and shop data we hold is removed upon a shop redaction request.

Your rights

You can request information about, or deletion of, the data associated with your store at any time by contacting us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent change.
